Abortion is not Murder

this post will be revised with legal citations, scripture, and dictionary references as soon as I have time.

Some Christians, who care enough about their neighbors to speak out in their defense, will say things like, "Abortion is murder!"

However, this is not true, and it's a gross simplification of the problem.

To abort something is to terminate its process. In the case which we're discussing, abortion is defined as the termination of a pregnancy.

Put simply, abortion ends the state of being pregnant. A woman ceases to be pregnant after terminating her state of pregnancy.

But how?

There are many ways to end a pregnancy. After 9 months, most pregnancies will end in an hours-long process called "child-birth."

Thus, by giving birth, a woman terminates her pregnancy.

Or suppose that she has a miscarriage, and the baby dies. This is sometimes called a "spontaneous abortion."

When you define abortion as "terminating a pregnancy," you cannot expand the definition to also mean, "killing a baby," or "fetus," if you prefer the Latin word for baby. Do you speak Latin? Just when you think it means something else? And then God's inescapable truth prevails.

When you say, "it's not a baby, it's a fetus," what you're really saying is, "it's not a baby, it's a baby."

Thus, you are reduced to absurdity. The fool says there is no God.

Moving on, it is a severe disservice to the fight to end the murder of babies when Christians believe and spread incorrect statements, like "Abortion is murder."

Abortion, defined as the termination of a pregnancy, has been made legal, but murder has not been legalized. We cannot conflate these two things, and set them equal to each other, since it limits our ability to correctly reason and understand the meaning of our words.

We are unable to effectively combat murder, and it is through our own carelessness that we enshrine a so-called right to murder children. If the Christians define abortion as murder, then the legalization of abortion encompasses the right to murder children, because we have said that abortion is murder.

To be clear, the state of Washington has not made it legal to murder babies. Disobedient Christians and so-called "law enforcement" officers are the groups which enable children to be killed. It is not Planned Parenthood who created the ability to kill children, but the American Church which has given the license to kill.

The state's laws give the woman a right to cease being pregnant. If she is pregnant, she has the right to not be pregnant in the future.

I certainly do believe a woman should have the right to not be pregnant, or to not be pregnant in the future.

If women want to abstain from sexual intercourse, they can maintain their right to not become pregnant.

And if they become pregnant, I surely would advocate for their right to give birth and cease being pregnant when the baby is born.

Who would suggest that women should be forced to become pregnant, or that they should be kept pregnant forever, and never give birth?

I have absolutely no issues with abortions that do not involve killing a child. But I do not accept any abortion that results in the death of a baby.

I would fully support safe abortions, that protect the mother and child.

Christians cannot support abortions that are performed carelessly, resulting in the death of the fetus, or abortions where the baby is killed first, to achieve the termination of the pregnancy.

If you want to terminate your pregnancy, or if you don't want to be pregnant, I have no issues with this.

But please don't murder the child. And Christians, stop being careless with your language.

And if you call yourself a Christian, maybe you can obey God's commandments, and

11 Deliver those who are being taken away to death,
And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back.
12 If you say, "See, we did not know this,"
Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts?
And does He not know it who keeps your soul?
And will He not render to man according to his work? (Proverbs 24:11-12)

In closing, our so-called "law-enforcement" officers need to actually enforce the laws against murder. They need to protect and serve.

Sadly, most cops & Christians prefer to live

on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. [We] have fattened [our]selves in the day of slaughter. [We] have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing [us]. (James 5:5-6)
